Wishes, wants and needs.

Now, I have a want list that long as a giraffes left hind leg. And, I have a need list that's a bit shorter. As for a wish list, I don't have much of one really.

But, I know the difference between a want and a need. I want a lift for my bike, I need to pay the light bill. I want more tools to work on my bike and Bronco. I need to buy my kids clothes. I want another bike to build, I need to save that money to feed my wifes hemi. Yup, I let her buy a Dodge truck, I told her to keep it out back so the neighbours wouldn't know. But, she won't listen, she parks it right out front in the drive. Won't even put a cover or a tarp on it. :-D

Like I was saying, I have my wants and needs, and I know the difference. Hell, everybody has their wants and needs, and hopefully they know the difference. But there are some that don't seem to know what they need and what they want.

When you think a want becomes a need, you're on the verge of becoming hopelessly lost. Do you need a good car? Maybe, or even yes you do. But, do you need a brand new car? Or, a brand new Lincoln, Cadillac, Bently or Hummer? No, you really don't need that. How about a new home? A five thousand square foot home? New shoes? Hundred and fifty dollar pair of shoes? You get the point.

Now, if I had the money and nothing better to do with it. Yea, I'd have a few nice expensive cars, a number of bikes, totally customized. But, I do my best to live within my means. Yea, it's hard someitmes. But, that's what you have to do to stay ahead in this game of life. I have everything I need, and want in my life. It's just stuff I want that I don't have, and I'll either get it or I won't, it won't hurt me either way.

And, everything that I want and need, is having a birthday today, and I just wanted to say happy birthday baby doll.

What's wrong here?

Just talked to an online friend. And, he got charged for shooting some kid. Got his gun that his father gave him taken away. His dad died in '03, by the way. He has spent tens of thousands of dollars for a lawyer. Has to take time away from his family and fields to attend to this matter. All for shooting some 16 year old kid.

Now I know you're like, hey wait a minute. He should hang for shooting a kid. Laa tee daa dee elfin da....

I've already heard the back story, before charges were brought against him. Sooooooo....
Let me set this up for ya here.

My friend is laying in bed at about three in the morning, and he hears something in his house that isn't normal. He knows it's not his dogs, or anything else that is normally supposed to be in his house, no relatives visiting. Nothing of that sort. So, he does exactly what I would have done. He grabs his gun and goes searching his house to see what the hell has gotten in. Now, living in the country, I'm sure he was expecting something more along the lines of a oppossum, or raccoon. But, no he finds this kid in his kitchen, and shoots him.

Now the governement is pressing charges on my friend for shooting him, because the kid didn't pose an immediate threat. Now come the hell on people, If this kid was in your house and you didn't know him or what he was planning on doing in your house, I know you'd feel a bit threatened by his prescense. Especially if you didn't know if he had a knife or a gun on him or not. It was found that the kid didn't have a weapon on him, but I say who cares. He broke into his house, he should pay the price. And, I'm not talking about court room justice. You still get robbed, or hell your sister, wife, sister, cousin, or daughter gets killed, and then you sit in jail because you shot the kid that did it???? WTH???

Why should we show criminals mercy when they choose not to show their vicitms mercy. And, why are we enacting laws to restrict the free and honest men and women in this country from protecting themselves. Why do we have to wait seven days when the gang bangers don't? Why do we give a theif parole and send him back on the streets with no way to make a living? Why do we show a killer mercy by lethal injection, with medicine to stop the pain and suffering in the name of being humane, when they didn't care how their vicims felt or if they felt the pain of the bullet going through their lung, or the knive severing their carotid artery, one left to suffocated to death the other to bleed? No mercy for the victim there.

America. Yes you. We're going to have to pull our heads out of our asses, and quit letting the criminals and ten percenters make the rules and laws. There is no way that a view that has less than sixty percent of the populaiton behind it should become law and/or catered to.

Here are three example of what I'm talking about.
 First. I walk into just about any place of business here in Oklahoma, and I see the no gun sticker on the door? Do you really think a criminal will change his mind and not bring his Uzi sub machine gun into the restaurant or grocery store, because there's a sitcker on the door? Hell no he won't.
 Second. I saw a story on the news a few years back, and I can't seem to find in on the net, but when I do, I'll add it here. But, it was about a man that broke into a restaurant to rob it, and then got stuck in the ventilation shaft. The owner of the restaurant found him and called police, after he was freed and released from the hospital, he sued the restaurant owner for damages, for pain and elfing suffering?! What the hell is wrong with that?
 Third. Nothing criminal here, but... In the McDonalds coffee case, that whole lawsuit was ridiculous. Basically, if she had put the damn cup of coffee in the cup holder instead of between her knees, she would have never gotten burned that bad. Case closed! It's the courts that let cases like this into the court room that help make it easier for criminals to sue and get away with their wrongdoing. I don't think this should be tolerated. Here's a link to the Wikipedia page for this suit   ;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald's_Restaurants

Let's get put the criminals where they belong, either behind bars or six feet down. If you commit a crime you should have no rights to shit. The only right you should be allowed to have, is covered by the Sixth Amedment. And, I believe that a person should have a fair trial. I say let's give them a fair trial, and when convicted.. Hang 'em high.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states;
 A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infinged.

The Sixth Amandment;
 In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and plublic trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which the district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the acusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

9/11

Thinking about what happened nine years ago today, and all the good people who risked their lives to save the lives of others. Not thinking about what could happen to themselves in the wreckage. Those are some true heros, and I personnally thank them for their commitment to serving our nation and our freedom.

While thinking about the attacks, I started to wonder why we hate others for what boils down to a basic difference of opinion. A lot of wars have broke out over religious differences. Even when the two religions worship the same God they have different opinions of how said God should be worshiped and what is right and wrong. What makes one sect of a given religion more right than the other? And, who's to say that even with different names that all the Gods are not the same entity, just known by different names? The underlying basis of all religions is the same, doing right by your fellow man and your God.

To start

I got to thinking on my way into work today, I have a lot to let's say "rant" about. So this is pretty much about my thoughts riding down the road and working in the oilfied and on drilling rigs.

I have a lot of time to think about things and topics will range from riding my motorcycle to religion to drivers to life in general and who knows what else.

I'd like to start out with an experience I had a few weeks ago while driving. And I have to ask myself, "Why do we do stupid stuff and then get mad at others for the outcome?"

I was riding down I-40 going home one morning from work. I'm in the outside/far right lane of a this wonderfully smooth highway. And, someone decides that he needs to go around me. Because the cars in the other two lanes are not moving quick enough for him, he decides it's a good idea to pass me on the right, yes that would be on the shoulder of the highway. Now, not expecting someone to be passing me on the right I get a bit startled. And, yes I flip him the bird. And, this guy honks at me like I'm doing something completly wrong, and had no right or reason to be perturbed. After thinking about this, I could do nothing but scratch my head at his reaction.

Later that week, I was in my truck turning onto that same stretch of highway. While making this left turn, someone in another truck tries to cut by me in the corner from the left. And, yet another horn blast. And, yes another birdy flies telling him he's number one in my book.

Now, I'm not saying I haven't or don't do the same things. I just don't remember any recent events. But, I have gotten aggrivated at my lawnmower because I ran over a rock or small limb, and the lawnmower dies.

I just wonder what is in our human psyche that makes us place blame elsewhere rather than in oursleves. I think I may be the singularity nature we have developed lately, maybe our parents didn't teach us shame and decency well enough. Or we may just be like a bomb waiting for any little release from combustion from either our bosses, spouses, or peers, who knows?
