A Little Bit 'O Counrty

Country music has been getting more away from country music as of late. Now, I like a lot of what has come out of the counrty music sceen. But, it's not exactly country anymore. It seems to have inched ever closer to a rock and pop style. And, it's nice to see that some country artists remember their roots and got back to playing some real counrty and western music. The bad part about it is, that we've got a major rocker making these counrty boys look bad by kicking some counrty ass, and making it look easy. And, an actress showing them up like she's been doing it since she was ten. And, this last one, I just can't even explain how right on he is. Justin is what country music is all about. Plain and simple.

Okie From Muskogee

Now, The Hag isn't exactly from Oklahoma. He was born in Oildale near Bakersfield, California, after his parents moved there from Oklahoma during the great depression. Oildale was a haven for refugees of the Dust Bowl which in turn helped cause The Great Depression. The song Okie From Muskogee, was written in the point of view he thought his dad's would have been.

I love the message in the second song. I strongly feel that we should worry about what goes on here in America before we go gettin everybody else out of a bind.
